Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) diaries

Client: Berry Street

BSEM is a staff development program that provides schools in Australia with training on positive education and wellbeing practices.

I led the collaboration process and concept development, liased with stakeholders and printers, and illustrated and designed all versions of the 2022 BSEM diaries.

As the main teaching tool, diaries that contained BSEM content were given to teachers and students whose school were enrolled in the program. The diaries consisted of weekly lessons that directly reflected BSEM's teachings and strategies. Each diary included a weekly diary layout and BSEM exercises at the front, and BSEM theory lessons at the back.

There were a few diary versions, each written with the appropriate language and layout designed specifically for its target audience: primary and high school students, and their teachers.

The visual theme for 2022 was 'origami', reflected by my illustrations.

Australian Catholic University (ACU) diary

Client: ACU

I led the concept development and designed the 2021 Australian Catholic University diary, which was distributed amongst their six campuses.

There are unique illustrations for special calendar days, and every month was branded in the colour that corresponded to each campus’s mascots.

Reading Log

An A5 booklet I designed for primary school students to record the books they read over the year. The book cover could be customised with the school logo and uniform. The colour of the log pages alternated every ten pages.

Strength Stickers

Using the 24 provided character strengths, I conceptualised and visualised them into simple, whimsical illustrations on a sticker sheet for primary school teachers to use as a reward or acknowledgement of the student’s good behaviour.

The stickers were 45mm-wide circles.

Merit Awards

With the aim to make primary school merit awards more fun and desirable so they can act as an incentive for students to collect them, I designed and illustrated unique, playful characters for each attribute. The back of the merits could be customised with the school's logo.
